What To Do In A Dental Emergency

Unfortunately, dental emergencies do happen. If you happen to find yourself in a situation where your tooth is knocked out of your mouth, the following tips should buy you some time and hopefully save your tooth!

1) Most importantly, call us immediately. When a tooth is knocked out, timing is critical and we will always do our best to ensure you are seen as soon as possible.

2) Only hold the too...th by the crown - do not touch the roots.

3) If possible, put the tooth back in the mouth in it's ideal position. (Avoid this step if the tooth has been on the ground or is not found to be clean.)

4) Alternatively, store the tooth in a cup of milk or saliva until you are able to see the dentist.

5) Depending on the accident, the tooth may require certain procedures in order to be saved. Your dentist will go through all treatment options with you in detail so that you clearly understand what is required.

At SPDC, we promise to always look after you and do everything we can to save your teeth. If you ever find yourself in a dental emergency, call us on 5597 2100.
