Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule

Medicare Teen Dental Plan Vouchers

If you're a parent or guardian of a child or teenager aged 2 to 17, your child may be eligible for assistance under the Federal Government's Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule - a bulk billing voucher scheme which assists eligible families with the cost of preventive dentistry and general dentistry.

To help you with your child or teenager's dental care, SPDC (Surfers Paradise Dental Centre) bulk bills for a range of preventive and general dental services under the Medicare scheme, leaving you with no out-of-pocket expenses for this component of your child's consultation.

The services covered under the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule include x-rays, cleaning, fluoride treatment, diet and oral hygiene instructions, as well as pit and fissure sealants.  Other general dental services such as fillings or restorations and extractions are also covered which may be discussed with you following your child's initial examination.

The Department of Human Services will write to children who are eligible each year.  The letter will be sent to you in the mail as the parent/guardian of the eligible child.

Simply make a booking, bring the letter along with your Medicare card to the appointment, and we will bulk bill for the check or examination.

As the parent or guardian you'll need to provide consent at the beginning of the dental appointment.  Please feel free to download the consent form so you may have it ready for the appointment!
